Villa San Nazario Il Poderuccio – A Slice of Tuscan Heaven Some places don’t just host you—they stay with you. Villa San Nazario Il Poderuccio, nestled among olive trees in the heart of the Brunello wine region, is one of those rare places.We stayed here with seven other couples, and the experience was nothing short of magical. The villa is spacious yet welcoming, with sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside and beautifully appointed spaces for gathering, dining, and relaxing.Our days were filled with unforgettable moments—visiting small, family-run vineyards to taste 2016 and 2019 Brunellos, wandering the historic streets of Siena, Montalcino, and San Gimignano, and even dining at a serene monastery that felt lifted from a movie scene. Though the Palio in Siena was postponed, simply standing in the Piazza del Campo and envisioning the thunder of the race was stirring.But the best part was always returning to Il Poderuccio. Evenings brought laughter, long dinners under the stars, and the unmistakable feeling that we were in a truly special place.

It's hard to imagine a more perfect place for a Tuscan vacation than Villa San Nazario. Upon arriving, the driveway lined with cypress trees gave us a first impression that felt like stepping into a Tuscan painting and set the stage for what was going to be the best vacation with our 14 friends. Each suite was pristine with a comfortable bed, kitchen, bathroom and garden terrace in addition to the main house where we gathered each morning and ended each day. Morning walks & runs on nearby trails were filled with sunflowers. Christina, our host prepared a traditional Tuscan breakfast each morning, was always pleasant & helped us with anything we needed. The pool was delightful and offered the needed relief from the July heat. Evening sunsets in the Villa’s olive grove overlooking the Tuscan vista were breathtaking.Location, location, location!! Villa San Nazario’s central location made it easy to travel to many Tuscan towns; Montalcino, Montepulcino, Siena, and Florence to name a few. Our host helped arrange a visit to the Brunello di Montalcino vineyards for a few private wine tastings and fabulous lunch. The nearby town of Buonconvento’s supermarket, butcher, shops and farmacia were stocked with everything we could possibly need. We dined locally at a few wonderful restaurants, and our group had a fun night making homemade pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven & Florentine steaks on the grill. Our host arranged a traditional full course traditional Tuscan dinner one night. The owner’s of Villa San Nazario have thought of everything to make our Tuscan vacation exceptional. We thank you and can’t wait to return next year!

This was the most exquisite villa! The villa has an amazing layout so you can travel with lots of friends or family and have privacy or gather together. The inside of the villa is gorgeous and so comfortable. We completely felt at home with all of the thoughtful touches. The grounds of the villa are beyond breathtaking. Sitting by the pool or having drinks or making pizzas was a treat for everyone. This is such a special place. You can tell the owners love their home as it is taken care of with such pride. We can’t say enough about what a wonderful stay we had!

Staying at Villa San Nazario villa this past July with a group of friends was purely magical. Nestled in the golden hills just outside Buonconvento, the villa is the very essence of what you imagine when you picture the Italian countryside—rolling vineyards, olive groves, cypress-lined drives, and sunsets that will take your breath away. Every view resembles an oil painting.

The villa itself is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Thick stone walls, terracotta floors, beamed ceilings gave it that authentic, centuries-old character, while the luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms with en suite kitchenettes made it feel like a five-star retreat. The coffee maker in our room made the best espresso!

Mornings were spent enjoying a delicious breakfast prepared by the attentive housekeeper as the sun rose over the hills. Afternoons flew by either at the lovely pool, or visiting historic cities such as Siena and San Gimignano. Evenings were reserved for wine, laughter, and long candlelit dinners under the stars.

The location of the villa is a perfect home base for exploring nearby wineries. The Montalcino wines are absolutely delicious and we were even able to ship some of our favorites back home easily, directly from the wineries we visited.

Some of our favorite moments were just staying put—reading in the garden, making pizza in the villa’s pizza oven , and simply soaking in the silence and beauty around us.

If you’re dreaming of an unforgettable Tuscan experience—one that nourishes the soul, delights the senses, and slows down time— Villa San Nazario is it. We can’t wait to return to Villa San Nazaro Il Poderuccio in Tuscany!
